Isn't the time leading up to your family photoshoot so wonderful? No. No it's not. Not at all. It never fails I turn into a bit of a gremlin as we're trying to get ready to get out the door, not mess anyone's hair, make sure there's no stains on dresses, be on time....you know, the usual cluster. This family photoshoot was no different as John unexpectedly couldn't find his black suit, didn't have that burgundy check shirt he swore he had, Cam suddenly couldn't dress herself, and Chase was tweening about her dang hair and the way I parted it....So naturally, I started speaking in tongues.
But I have to tell you, it made for a hilarious after story at dinner. We're at the phase now where the three of them giggle with each other as I turn away and march up the stairs post outburst. They think it's "so hilarious" when I start to go on a tirade...Which, in turn, makes me chuckle....sorta. And while there was a part of me that thought...hell, we don't need another family photoshoot as we just snagged a boatload of family pics at the Wedding, it was Johnny Boy that insisted we capture our crew before our very first Christmas as a family. And he was right. Amidst the chaos, these are images I will cherish as this year will be more special than most. We will be celebrating our first Christmas as a family and I simply cannot wait. Forming new traditions amongst the four of us. A moment I will never forget this past Thanksgiving as we were at the table....sweet Chaser said out of the blue, "This makes me really happy. The four of us as a family." #inserttears Me, too, kiddo....more than you know. This year has been a long time in the making, and I simply couldn't feel more blessed if I tried. Feeling extra thankful today for my little crew, life in general, and y'all for swinging on by s + s.
