The Foodie Festival
Gang. When I say John and I had quite the time at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival--it's no fluff. This festival was LEGIT. Fun, festive, flavorful, fabulously curated scenes from the South--I'm telling you, it's one we will revisit next year no doubt.
From the pop-up vineyard in Midtown to our fave class, "The Chemistry Between Food and Wine," John and I literally had the most gloriously gluttonous experience ever. I mean the crazy talented chefs, the decor (situated in the Loews Hotel), the attention to detail, the Southern Hospitality, the wine, the cocktails (how 'bout a Michelada garnished with an oyster to kick off your morning), and the FOOD...y'all the food was just too dang good. I'm easily 5 lbs heavier than when I departed, and I'm totally OK with that.
Hands down the Eats of the Weekend award goes to the perfectly seasoned chicken coupled with garlicky kale and grits (pictured above from Springer Mountain Farms). I may have gone back for seconds. And thirds. You see, that was the beauty of the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, you could experience ridiculously tasty fare from the south and unique cocktails and brews galore. And so that's exactly what we did. We experienced the South. And it was flippin' Delicious.
A very special thank you to the AFWF16 Team for having me and John---Y'all and Hotlanta were quite the hosts!
