Rainy Day S’more-gasbord
The other night we had made plans to sit around the bonfire with the kiddos and roast some s’mores after dinner. Just as we were ready to walk outside, the skies opened up and we got DUMPED on. We weren’t going to let rain get in the way between us and some toasty mallow goodness so we quickly pivoted to plan B. I reached for a wooden board, skillet, and all our fixins to create a rainy day s’more-gusbord and all I can say is…dang. Here’s how to make your own at home…
First, gather your accouterments – we opted for the classic graham crackers, fudge stripes, and oreos but you can get creative here. Next, you’ll need chocolate and lots of it. Again, you can’t have a s’more without Hershey’s but we also added Reese’s Peanut Butter cups because…duh…and even some of our FAVE caramels to melt on top. You’ll want to set up your board first so you’re ready to dive in while the marshmallows are gooey and browned to perfection.
Next, we used our Cast Iron Always Pan from Our Place, but any cast iron pan will work just fine. Line it with mallows and broil them in the oven for a few minutes. WATCH CAREFULLY as these puppies are ready in no time. Pull ‘em out of the oven and place them on your board…then you know the next step – DIVE IN and ENJOY! It was such a fun and hassle free way to make a delicious treat and fond memories with the kiddos…we will definitely be adding this to our family movie nights and looking for new ways to step up our s’mores game. Can’t wait to see what you do with yours!
P.S…these would make a fab hostess gift by bringing all the fixins in my fave snackie tray!
P.S.S. Check out this adorable set from Social Threads — the perfect s’more-gasbord ‘fit (elastic waistband FTW).
